Pearl Ball 2007
Filed Under EDF Events | Leave a Comment
This year proved to be a very exciting year one for our annual fundraising event. With a new name and a new venue The Pearl Ball 07 was definitely our most successful ever. On Thursday 25th October, 360 guests joined us in the Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel for a glittering night where goodwill and generosity were paramount. This year we were also joined by the Butterfly Foundation as co-hosts, and received great support from the fashion industry with both Sarah Jane Clarke from Sass and Bide and Charlie Brown attending along with their guests.
Guests were entertained by Roger Benedict, principal viola for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the amazing Tenors Undercover and danced the night away to the sounds of the wonderful John Field Band.
The Eating Disorder Foundation’s aim to raise sufficient funds and awareness on the night was given huge support and far exceeded our expectation. Almost $300 000 was raised – a staggering result! These proceeds will enable us to continue to support people affected by anorexia and bulimia throughout NSW. It is the aim of the Foundation to focus additional efforts in the coming year on the needs of regional and remote areas of NSW where no consumer help is available and treatment facilities are virtually non-existent.
In addition special thanks must also go to our Major Sponsors: Ticor, St Hilliers, Ashe Morgan Winthrop, the Saunders family, St George, Northside Clinic, Australian Pearl Divers and Captain Cook Cruises. We are indebted to you for your generosity.
My personal thanks go all those who helped make this such an amazing night. Special mention must be made of Bronny Carroll whose help and support was invaluable.
