Fundraising
The Eating Disorders Foundation is the only organisation in NSW with consumer expertise that offers information and support to those people affected by eating disorders, including sufferers and their families, friend and carers. We also provide information and training to professionals in health, education and the media.
The demand on our service is constantly increasing. Thanks to the success of previous fundraising events and the generosity of corporates and private philanthropy we have been able increase the hours of our professional staff to meet this increasing demand.
The focus of our work over the next three years is to increase the awareness of the foundation and our work in regional and remote areas, to strengthen our outreach to young people through schools and sporting and recreational clubs and to expand our relapse prevention and mentorship programs.
The Eating Disorders Foundation is entirely reliant on our fundraising capacity to maintain and expand our invaluable service.
Our Fundraising Committee is headed by our Fundraising and Events Director, Mary Orenstein. This is a volunteer committee and new volunteers who are keen to be involved are always welcome.
Our main fundraising event is The Pearl Ball and work is already underway for the 2008 event. However, there are many ways you can get involved in fundraising for the foundation. Private donations, sponsorship, fundraisers in your own town or within your school are a number of ways you can participate in fundraising for the Foundation.
If you would like to discuss any ideas you have, please give us a call on (02) 9412 4499 or email our Events and Fundraising Director Mary Orenstein.
